Generocksity is a non profit organization started in Vancouver, Canada that aims to provide high quality live music based events while donating all proceeds raised to vital local charities to help better our society. THE CAUSE
Generocksity Leiden is proud to be supporting Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland (Dutch council for refugees). Refugees have a right to a fair asylum procedure, and subsequently access to adequate housing, education, health care and work. The Dutch Council for Refugees is an independent, non-governmental organization that defends those rights.

Nobody leaves their homeland, loved ones and possessions behind without a reason. People flee oppression, war or persecution. Refugees who seek protection in our country have to start all over again. The support VluchtelingenWerk offers together with donors and volunteers is needed!

1st Floor – BANDS

Duende:
Dimitris(guitar),Lydia(vocals) and Jesse (percussion)met in Leiden through some Jam sessions in Leiden in November 2013 and since then decided to play music together, while combining the different aspects of their culture( Greece, Holland). Their sound is a mix of white soul, trip hop and acoustic rock.

The Destructive Penguins:
Destructive Penguins are playing a funky mix of rap, pop and rock on stages in and around their home town Leiden. Their gigs are built around a strong core of their own songs, complemented with a cover or two of songs that inspire them truly. They love to experiment and improvise, so don’t be surprised when they bash you with an unexpected dubstep riff or treat you with a jazz infused instrumental solo. After soulful appearances this Summer on festivals such as “Noorderliefde” and “Fringe” you can bet on it the Penguins will be making a run for the bigger stages sooner or later.

DJ Wouter Bos:
De énige échte! A regular at fraternity-, sports- and houseparties in Delft, as well as an often seen name at studentclub Lorre. His sets are somewhere between zer00’s hits and rock anthems in the middle of the top 40, house and disco classics.

2nd Floor – PHOTO EXHIBITION

Come upstairs to a lounge atmosphere to enjoy a photo exhibition from some of Leidens most talented and travelled photographers. The theme is international so you are sure to see some interesting sites.

THE KARMA KEG

The Karma Keg is an integral part of every Generocksity event. We have generously received sponsorship from Gulpener Bierbrouwerij providing us with 2x 20 L Kegs of UR-Pilsner with the sales from these beers getting donated to Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland. So come help us finish these, and support a great cause!
