Op de eerste zaterdag van maart wordt bij Vrijplaats Leiden Internationale Vrouwendag gevierd met een uitbundige grrl power line up op het ‘Wereldwijven & Global Grrlz’ feest!
Het feest begint al in de middag met vanaf 16 uur een ‘zero waste’ textiel workshop van upcycle kunstenares Nadin Varsovia ism de Weggeefwinkel.

Na een heerlijke maaltijd is er in de Generator een poi- en hoelahoep area met Mirjam Douma..
Er is ook weer een ‘cut workshop’, waar je je oude vormloze shirts verknipt tot superhippe topjes..

Er staan optredens op stapel van de Haagse post-punk/new wave formatie † Lifeless Past † .. en hopelijk ook nog de Leidse rockband Dangerous Minds (ovb) met onze eigen Cynthia en Lonneke ..
En maak je borsten maar vast nat voor de ondeugende poezie van niemand minder dan Pink Meltzer!
Later op de avond zal je, naast DJ Miss World, ook kunnen swingen op de funky balkan & reggae beats van DJ LAY DNA, speciaal overkomen uit Budapest!
Mannen zijn gewoon welkom op deze grrlz party! Gewoon als jezelf.. of misschien om je vrouwelijke kant te vieren? (wordt dit de nieuwe rokjesdag voor mannen!?)

In dit stadium is er nog ruimte voor meer inhoud!
Wil jij dus iets toevoegen aan deze avond, in het programma of organisatorische zaken, dan zou het dus nog uitbundiger kunnen worden.. laat je dus horen!

On the first Saturday of March, Vrijplaats Leiden celebrates womanhood with the ‘Wereldwijven & Global GrrlZ’ Party, just before International Women’s Day!
So prepare for an event with a fab rebel grrl line up!

The event will already start in the afternoon with a zero waste textile workshop by upcycle artist Nadin Varsovia at 16 pm, made possible with a lil help from the Wggeefwinkel/free shop.

After the regular tasty Saturday meal, there is lots of stuff to enjoy
like a poi and hoop workshop…
Or how about the cut workshop, where you cut your old boring shirts into tops with new snazzy designs..

then in the evening it is time to party on with live music and acts..
New Wave duo ‘Lifeless Past’ And hopefully Rockband ‘Dangerous Minds’ (tbc) will play us some blow away sets..
and some perky poetry by Pink Meltzer

After all this, you can dance the night away with the DJ’s Lay DNA and Miss World!

At this stage there is still space for more!
